This fan was a little difficult to install because I had a little less clearance up in ceiling than required. I was able to manipulate the sheet metal to squeeze it in though. Besides that the installation is pretty much straight forward. The only reason I gave it 4 not 5 stars is because they do not include a 0.99 part that is needed for safety reasons. A strain relief is needed to protect the wire from the sharp sheet metal when the wire is installed through the opening. For the cost of this unit they should have included that in the box. I was able to reuse the strain relief from my old fan so I wasn t too upset. If you do not use a strain relief the wires could fray eventually causing a fire. It was irresponsible for the manufacture to not include this vital part. The light that this put off depend on the bulb you use. LED s won t give off as much light as a CFL but if you have a second source of lighting it is more than sufficient, I used LED. I did not utilize the night light feature. The glass dome is very thick and frosted and blocks a lot of the light from going through it but again to me it is enough light. As far as it s main purpose...I had zero moisture on my walls and mirror after taking a very hot shower. This worked beyond my expectations. The key to maximizing the fan function is to completely seal up any holes or cracks in and around the box before installing the light fixture. I used tape they use on duct work to seal every screw hole or crack in between the sheet rock and metal box. If you do not do this you will suck a lot of air from above your ceiling not actually out of the room you install it in. Second, make sure you have at least 1 2 -1 space between the bottom of your door and the flooring to allow enough airflow to enter the room. If you have a tight seal the fan will not be able to suck enough air and could possibly damage the unit. That is all, goodbye
